Down to the nitty gritty details

Booking on the calendar

My calendar books up extremely quick so it is recommended to order your cake at least a month or 2 in advance. I only book 2 months in advance with books opening the first week of each month.  Being that this is a one person operation I will not be able to accommodate every request or last minute requests. On average I take 6-8 custom cake orders a week.

Anarchy Cake Studio is a LLC operating under Arkansas cottage food laws. We are not a store front yet which means I'm not doing small batch items like single cupcakes or ready to-go cakes.

New policies for 2023:

Orders are only finalized after all details have been discussed, flavors picked, policies are agreed to, and the invoice is paid.

Full payment is due at the time of booking and is final. I invoice through PayPal, Venmo or Square. If the order is cancelled more than 2 weeks prior to the pickup date, a 50% refund may be offered.

Pickup times are of the utmost importance! I ask for a 30 minute window to pickup, set by the customer and agreed to by the artist. A $5 late fee will be applied for every 10 minutes late, and the cake will not be handed over until this is paid. If pickups are not made within the 30 minute window, I cannot guarantee I’ll be available and another pickup time may have to be arranged. This new time will be set by the artist. Late fees accrued from lack of notification in the original pickup window will still be due prior to pickup.

I usually provide a simple sketch of the design. Sometimes while working on the cake I’ll find that something doesn’t fit or a piece would look better in a different spot. Small changes like these are subject to the artist’s discretion. Big changes will not be made without customer consultation.

I ask that all designs are completed before booking. I understand that sometimes kids change their mind on themes. If a theme change or redesign is requested more than 2 weeks prior to the pickup date, I should be able to accommodate. In most cases a redesign fee will be charged. Any smaller changes to an agreed upon design need to be made with a 2 weeks notice.

Since this is a home based business I cannot make any guarantees for allergens.

Once the cake leaves the premises I am not responsible for damage. At pickup you will be able to see the cake and confirm there is no damage. Please follow care instructions given at pickup.

Invoices are sent once a quote is agreed upon. Invoices need to be paid within 24 hours to reserve your spot. If not paid, then your spot is opened again and you may lose out on the date requested.

A copy of this page will be sent to be read and agreed upon as a contract for your order. Weddings will require a separate contract.

Care and Instructions

Your cake is handled with great care while being baked, decorated, and boxed up but once it leaves the premises it is your responsibility to  get it home safely. It recommended that your cake sit either be held carefully by an adult passenger or be placed on a flat surface such as the trunk or floor board. It is never a good idea to place it on a seat as most are not flat and the cake could easily shift and get damaged.

Recommendations are given for car ride placement at pickup but I cannot be responsible if you chose to not do what is recommended. Once the cake is handed off it is no longer my responsibility however if you get home and have an issue always feel free to reach out and I will do the best I can to fix the issue.

Cakes are kept chilled for a least a couple of hours before pickup for stability while driving. If you are planning to travel again with the cake it is recommended to chill the cake before it takes a ride. This will greatly reduce any chance of damage.

Cakes are best served at room temperature which means you should pickup your cake with enough time to get it to the destination and let it sit out for a bit since it is chilled for travel. Since we live in a very humid environment we recommend  that a cake covered in buttercream be taken out of the fridge at least an hour before being served and if covered in fondant or has a lot of fondant details that it be taken out 30-45 minutes before being served. This is always discussed at pickup for each individual cake.

The cakes we make are very intricate and those detailed elements need to be cared for. Many items have small dowels or wired in them for support. It is not advised to allow children to bite directly into any figures without checking or to smash anyone's head or hands into the cake. These elements are talked about at pickup, especially for smash cakes.

Enjoy!

Your cake is sure to be the centerpiece all your guests will talk about! We'd love to hear your feedback so leave us a review on Facebook and we look forward to doing the cake for all your events!
